Summary

First, thanks to all participants and the great organization! I think we all had lots of fun and are very happy about the atmosphere within the whole team. That we were able to accomplish all the tasks and deliverables in time is defenitely due to this kind of teamwork and the mutal support. Besides creating a new application and crafting a business plan with various marketing strategies and sales pitches we all learned a lot. Even the long working hours I think we would all again decide to take this course and highly recommend it to further potential participants. Thank you all for this great week and we hope to see you soon.

Fifth Day

Even we have been really busy the last four days lots of tasks remain. Today, writing down our findings and implementing some more technical functions will be the core focus. At 9 pm, we at least have to have:
– Sales, strategy, marketing, partner and technical presentations
– A small business plan
– One product poster
– A targeted marketing strategy
– A running shoplet
– The right algorithms
– A corporate design
– This blog
– Various presentations and pitches

Course of the Fourth Day

Based on the name choice the designers right this morning were able to present the first logos and the shoplet design. These mock-ups are directly implemented by our techies and seem to fit the requirements quite good. Looking at the current prototype we are really excited about the final version. Nearly all critical parts within the information work-flow are tested and have not yet brought down the database.

For lunch we discovered a nice Indian restaurant right besides Odeonsplatz. Recommendation! Great food.

One of our salesman approached us to sell one of the most important utility for the legendary Eisbach-floatings in summer. Yes, you’re right! Preparations for the next season already started. 🙂

I think we have mentioned that the buildings heating is currently out of order. But as you can see on the pictures this issue was solved by the first prototype of an air conditioner heating. According to our mechanical engineer cooling down the corridor to about 16° Celsius really can heat us up. Works! 😉

Fourth Day

The fourth day started with high exceptions about finalizing the first part of the concepts. This right in the beginning lead to fruitful discussions about the directions to take. The preparation of researched and condensed market data perfectly accomplished this task. Not only argumentation exchanges but also the teams creativity impacted on the decisions. As expected, the identification of the right target markets and distribution channels is not easy, but we came up with a clear selection. First presentations are structured and filled with content. We are all right on track!

Course of the Third Day

Marketing already selected some of the most promising distribution channels and started to develop first concepts. With the potential to target a broad range of age groups market segmentation came up with important results. Were are all interested in the explanations of our trend research specialist and try to focus the scope.

The design issue could be solved after restructuring the concept and the first mock-ups look quite good. Implementation seems to be straight forward and necessary connections are established. The back-end with servers, databases and ‘automatic procedures’ seem to be on the right track.

Third Day

Already two days passed and we have to incorporate a strategic shift. Waking up in a slightly cold city the teams reactivated their winter feelings with great old Christmas carols.

CenterVenture is on Facebook now. Become a fan of our page. (link)

Course of the Second Day

Besides the regular brainstormings the team was able to buy some sweets. Yummy. 🙂

Tasks are finished and as the end of the day approaches we welcomed our guests.

A last kicker with the remaining guys.

Lunch-Time

In spite the rain pouring against the windows we have still decided to walk a bit to an all you can eat sushi restaurant. Chilled to the bone we have arrived at the restaurant. After some back and forth we could finally sit down and enjoy our sushi plates. The food was amazing and really “all you can eat”

After the lunch break we have hurried to finish our first “official” presentation in front of our client. We keep our fingers crossed that we are on the right way

Second Day

With the burden in our heads of having to pay 2 EUR for the table soccer cash box every ten minutes that we are late
all of us managed to arrive on time at the CDTM this morning. Since 9 a.m. everyone is sitting in the team’s room and concentrating on his job
only now the CDTM seems to wake up. Let’s see if we can manage to have lunch all together

Wrap up of the First Day

Although separated by thick walls, both, the techie and the business team, survived the first day of their venture life. Invigorated by the well-known pizza, cookies, and fruits and of course coffee, the first day went by and we can look back at a successful start. The tech team did a great job developing the shoplet and the business team wracked their brains about the profitability. The marketing team started to spread the news about the Center Venture 2009 into the worldwide web-world.

We would like to give you some impressions of our teams and particular tasks.
